License Renewals
Renewal Instructions
Licenses expire on December 31st of the year following the year of issue. (For example, a license issued in 2009 expires on December 31, 2010.) Notice and application for license renewal are mailed to each licensed architect and landscape architect at their last address of record approximately sixty (60) days prior to December 31st. The renewal application must be post-marked by December 31st of the renewal year to be considered. Any renewal application received with a post-mark after December 31st is returned, and the license becomes void.
When the renewal application is approved, the license is renewed for two (2) calendar years. The licensed architect and landscape architect will receive a new pocket ID card and a receipt for the renewal fee.

Change of Address
If you have had a change of address or phone number, business and/or residence, within the last two years, please contact us with that information to ensure that you will receive the renewal notice and application. Failure to receive a notice from the Board does not excuse you from the requirement for timely and proper license renewal. You may send the change of address to the Board in writing by mail, fax (307) 777-3508, or e-mail emily.cronbaugh@wyo.gov.
Continuing Education
Professional Development Units (PDUs) are required for license renewal. Specific information can be found in Chapter 8 of the Rules and Regulations.
Failure to Renew
The Board's governing statutes do not provide for the late renewal of a license. If you do not renew your license prior to the expiration date, you forfeit your license and are no longer legally eligible to provide architectural or landscape architectural services in the State of Wyoming.
You may, however, re-apply for licensure within three (3) years of your license expiration date without being required to repeat the licensure examination. After three (3) years you must apply as a new applicant and you may be required to repeat the examination. For reissuance the Board requires:
- A complete, notarized application form
- Documentation of U.S. Citizenship, or legal presence in the U.S. (Only required once for each license holder. See List A & B for acceptable documents.)
- Application fee of $200.00
- Plus an additional $87.50 for each year the license was expired, plus the $175.00 renewal fee for the current and following year.
- Plus verification that you have completed PDUs in proportion to the length of time that the license has expired based on the requirements at the time of reissuance.
For example, if you license expires on December 31, 2007, for reissuance in:
2008- the fees due would total of $375.00 and 1 to 8 PDUs would be required
2009- the fees due would total of $462.50 and 8 to 16 PDUs would be required
2010- the fees due would total of $550.00 and 16 to 24 PDUs would be required
If approved, the same license number will be assigned and the reissued license will expire on December 31st of the following year. However, the Board's records will show the period of time when the license was expired.
